The company Q-Tech Roding e.K. was founded in 2006 by Ludwig Kerscher. After being entered in the commercial register and the delivery of the first measuring machines, such as an ACCURA coordinate measuring machine from the manufacturer ZEISS, the company's activities were officially launched on September 1 on the premises of the Roding Innovation and Start-up Center.
On November 9, 2006, the company presented itself to the general public. Owner Ludwig Kerscher presented his business model and provided information about the services and strategies of the young service company to representatives from the district, town and economy as well as business partners and the press.
Already in the first financial year, the order situation and good response from customers made it necessary to expand the company. To this end, the range of measuring services was broadened through the acquisition of new devices, an optical video measuring device from OGP and a contour measuring device from Hommel-Etamic. On the other hand, the Q-Tech Roding team was also strengthened in terms of personnel.
Q-Tech Roding started 2008, an eventful year for the company, with another new employee. The most significant innovation was the commissioning of the ZEISS METROTOM 1500. With this computer tomograph, the company was able to expand its range of services considerably. Computed tomography offers the user a wide range of applications. With the help of X-rays, it is possible to take a non-destructive look inside components made of plastic, composite materials or steel, for example. The parts can thus be dimensionally measured and the corresponding results efficiently evaluated.
Q-Tech Roding e.K. used the 2009 financial year to consolidate its previous successes, continue its dynamic development and firmly establish itself as a high-performance partner in the industry. The company therefore made its first trade fair appearance at MedTec 2009 and presented itself to trade visitors from the medical technology sector, for whose needs Q-Tech Roding offers innovative, customized solutions.
In 2010, Q-Tech Roding e.K. once again used this important MedTec platform to present itself and the services it offers, to inform interested parties and to make contacts. Furthermore, in January 2010, the company offered both its own employees and external staff from other companies the opportunity to attend an AUKOM training course held at the Q-Tech Roding e.K. premises. The aim of this training is to provide participants with manufacturer-independent, in-depth knowledge in the field of coordinate measuring technology.
After the addition of another employee in 2010, the Q-Tech Roding e.K. team was significantly strengthened in 2011 both in terms of personnel and machinery with the newly acquired ZEISS CONTURA. The successful completion of certification in accordance with DIN EN ISO-9001:2008 in July 2011 demonstrates the importance placed on maintaining the highest quality standards while constantly expanding the range of services and machinery.
Due to the very positive development that Q-Tech Roding e.K. had experienced since it was founded in 2006, the company took the big step into a new chapter in its history in 2012. After the Roding Innovation and Start-up Center, which is operated by the district of Cham, offered the best starting conditions for the first few years, Q-Tech Roding e.K. began construction of its own company building in the Roding-Altenkreith industrial estate in March 2012 and moved into it in August.
This new technology center with its state-of-the-art measuring laboratory and further strengthening of the innovative and dynamic team offers the best conditions for Q-Tech Roding e.K. to continue to fully meet the high demands of customers in the field of industrial measurement technology in the future.
Expansion of our 3D coordinate measuring equipment to include a high-precision PRISMO ultra with rotary table for measuring rotationally symmetrical components. In combination with our additional ultra-fine measuring room, we can now provide our customers with even more accurate results and also carry out gear measurements.
We can look back on ten years of precision: continuous company growth, an excellently trained team and modern machinery. The best prerequisites for the coming years and future customer projects. We celebrated the anniversary with our employees to thank them for their tireless commitment. District Administrator Franz Löffler, Mayor Franz Reichold and Richard Brunner, Managing Director of the Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHK), also honored us and presented us with the IHK certificate for our tenth anniversary.
This new technology center with its state-of-the-art measuring laboratory and further strengthening of the innovative and dynamic team offers the best conditions for Q-Tech Roding e.K. to continue to fully meet the high demands of customers in the field of industrial measurement technology in the future.
Since October 2019, Fabian Kerscher is the second generation to help shape the future of Q-Tech in Roding. After completing his training as a mechatronics technician at Technical Plastic Systems GmbH in Wackersdorf, he graduated as the best German apprentice. During his mechatronics studies at the East Bavarian Technical University in Regensburg, Fabian Kerscher qualified twice as a scholarship holder in the scholarship program of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, which supports talented and high-performing students.
Just in time for the start of the new year, we have invested in a new machine: The new ZEISS METROTOM 1500 replaces our first computer tomograph after 11 years. With the third generation of this computer tomograph (CT), we have the latest state of the art technology back in our company. Thanks to the new 3K detector, we can achieve three times the resolution (3072 x 3072 pixels) with our X-ray images while at the same time achieving significantly greater accuracy, thus offering you an even more detailed analysis.
We are very proud that State Minister Hubert Aiwanger has presented us with the funding decision from the Bavarian joint research programme "BayVFP" funding line Digitalization - Information and Communication Technology. Together with the Cham Technology Campus, we can now start the "AUTOLOAD" research project. As part of the project, we want to deal with forward-looking topics such as smart factories, additive manufacturing, the industrial use of AI and automation and digitalization in industrial measurement technology and find innovative solutions. Because right now, in these challenging times, it is particularly important to think about tomorrow today and break new ground with forward-looking topics and ideas.
A new machine has also reached our company in 2021: The ZEISS O-INSPECT 863 strengthens our measurement team in the optical-tactile area. With a measuring range of 800 x 600 x 300 mm and a measuring accuracy of MPE_E: 1.7 + L/250 μm, a wide variety of state-of-the-art procedures can now be carried out.
In 2022, we realigned our company to strengthen our brand. By introducing new business areas, we are in turn able to respond to changing market trends and serve our customers even better.
In 2023, we continued to invest in innovative technologies and further expanded our newly introduced business areas. In addition, we have a new 3D scanner that enables us to perform highly accurate and detailed scans to meet your requirements. Our goal is to always offer you the best solutions and exceed your expectations.
